We seek two Friends to join our Trustee board in 2025.
Are you passionate about mental health and looking for a meaningful way to contribute your financial expertise? The Quaker Mental Health Fund, a national charity dedicated to supporting mental health work within the Quaker community, is seeking dedicated and skilled Friends to join our trustee team.
About Us:
The Quaker Mental Health Fund plays a vital role in promoting mental health awareness, offering grants to individuals in need of support, and empowering Quaker-led projects focused on mental well-being. Our work helps Friends across the country reflect, take action, and make a positive impact in their communities. In 2025, our work is focused on improving the reach of our grant making.
Your Role:
As Trustees you will be essential to our mission. You will ensure our governance and financial stability, enabling us to continue providing crucial support to individuals and projects. This is a volunteer role within our entirely volunteer-led organisation, offering a unique opportunity to make a real difference.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential

Dedicated to the organisation’s cause and objectives.

Demonstrated understanding of accountancy, commercial awareness, and knowledge.

Competent use of IT skills.

Proven ability to communicate and explain financial information to members of the Board and other stakeholders.

Analytical and evaluation skills, demonstrating good judgement.

Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship.

Good communication and leadership skills
Desirable
-
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of charity finance practices.

Skills and experience in one or more areas of non-executive governance and management e.g. strategic planning, business management, financial/accountancy, experience of Trusts or other grant giving bodies particularly fundraising and legal knowledge.
We also encourage interest or applications from Friends with professional experience working within mental health care, therapy, or psychiatry/psychology/counselling (or other relevant fields).
Time Commitment:

The Board meets at least 6 times annually, with two in-person meetings.

Trustees are expected to contribute at least 1 hour per week to their duties.
